Call for Applications for the SONSOL Project (Support One Needy Student with One Laptop) for the 2024/2025 Academic Year
In line with the Vice-Chancellor’s vision to Support One Needy Student with One Laptop, the SONSOL Project seeks to provide laptops to financially disadvantaged students to enhance their academic work at KNUST.
ELIGIBILITY
All Applicants must:
- Be first year Ghanaian Students (including students from IDL, Obuasi Campus, and all Colleges)
- Be in their first year of undergraduate or postgraduate (Master’s) studies
- Have a WASSCE aggregate of 15 or better.
- Demonstrate financial need and academic potential
- Students who are already beneficiaries of other scholarships as well as Bursaries above GHȻ 2,000.00 are NOT Eligible.
REQUIREMENTS
All prospective applicants are to include the following documents in their applications:
- A one-page statement of need
- Admission Letter
- Acceptance Letter
- WASSCE Certificate or WASSCE Results (Undergraduates Only)
- Postgraduate students only: Include a certified true copy of your 1st degree certificate
- Awards and Certificates for involvement in extra-curricular activity (if any)

PLEASE NOTE
- For postgraduate students, only the first 50 applications will be considered due to the limited number of laptops available. All Applications submitted after the first 50 will be respectfully declined.
- All documents must be in a sealed envelope with the Applicant’s Name, Programme, Year, Reference Number and phone number boldly written on it.
- Submission of documents should be done at the Student Support and Financial Services Office (Room 19) at the Directorate of Students Affairs, J Harper Building, Commercial Area.
- Any write-up should be typed in the font Times New Roman, size 12 and 1.5 spaced.
- No Application will be accepted after the deadline.
- Only shortlisted applicants will be called for an interview.
