Call for Applications for Appointment as General Manager – KNUST Bottling Limited Company
THE Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, invites applications from qualified persons for appointment as GENERAL MANAGER of the KNUST Bottling Limited Company (KBLC).
The KBLC is a limited liability company in water production, which seeks to take advantage of the increasing demand for water on KNUST campus and beyond. The Company has six (6) production lines in the water industry, namely: 350ml Bottled Water, 500ml Bottled Water, 500ml Sachet Water, 750ml Bottled Water, 1.5 Litre Bottled Water and 18-Litre Water Dispenser Jar. The mission of KBCL is to establish a standard and world class water bottling company to enhance sustainable and healthy life of the internal and external publics of the University.
The Position
The Manager shall be responsible for driving the strategic plan and operational performance of the KNUST Bottling Limited Company and shall report to the Board of Directors of KBLC. As an Executive Head, the Manager shall also provide leadership to the Managerial team to achieve the overall growth and profitability agenda of KBLC.
The person must:
- possess a minimum qualification of Masters in Business Administration, or Masters in any Engineering programme or any related fields. A combination of the above qualifications will be an advantage.
- have a minimum of FIVE (5) YEARS relevant work experience in a similar position in a water production organisation or a related field.
- be dynamic, self-motivated, business-oriented and competent with proven ability;
- be transparent, firm and exhibit a high sense of leadership qualities and organisational skills;
- have the ability to exercise sound and impartial judgement, exhibit high sense of initiative, and managerial skills;
- be visionary and result-oriented with a proven capacity to motivate, manage and direct staff;
- have the capacity to manage and control crisis situations; and,
- be a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
Terms of Appointment
- The appointment will be on a full-time basis and shall be subject to a probationary period of six months.
- The appointment shall be confirmed only after satisfactory performance determined through a formal assessment at the end of the probationary period.
- The appointee shall undergo periodic professional assessment and continued employment shall be based on the appointee’s demonstrated competence, effectiveness and suitability for the position, as evidenced by the outcome of the assessment.
