2024 KNUST Food Festival

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi is inviting the University Community and the general public to the annual KNUST FOOD FESTIVAL on Friday, 16th February, 2024.

Theme: Innovations and Technological Advancements in Traditional Foods; The Role of Academia and Industry.

The Food Festival is an annual celebration which seeks to educate the public on the science underpinning food preparation, nutrition, and food safety. Since the initiation of the Festival in 2018, the theme for each year always addresses specific societal, industry and consumer needs in support of efforts aimed at transforming the Ghanaian food system for sustainable food and nutrition security. The theme for this year is aimed at calling upon academia and industry players to contribute to innovations and technological advancements in traditional foods.

This event will showcase food-related innovations and technological advancements as part of efforts toward achieving sustainable food and nutrition security in Ghana (SDG 2 and 3). All kinds of foods and beverages will be made available for tasting and purchase.

Participation

All stakeholders including students and scientists/researchers from various universities/institutions, industry players, food businesses, government, media, and the general public are cordially invited to participate.

Exhibitions

Interested Companies/Organizations and registered Food Businesses are invited to exhibit their products at a fee.

Poster Presentations

Individuals will be given the opportunity to participate in a poster presentation. Participants wishing to partake in this should register for allocation.
