The Finance Office offers support for refunds, grants, budgeting and financial guidance, helping staff access financial services with ease.

 

Payables

Staff Drug Refund 

The reimbursement of medical expenses incurred by university staff for approved medications. This service is part of the university’s staff welfare and healthcare support system, designed to ensure that staff members can access prescribed drugs without bearing the full cost out-of-pocket. It is closely linked with the University Hospital. 

Removal allowance 

The university offers relocation or removal allowances for staff who are transferred, promoted, or newly recruited to the university. This service ensures that staff moving to new positions or locations within the university receive timely financial support to cover the costs of transporting their personal effects and household items. 

Grants 

Staff of the university are provided with grants. These grants include transfer grants or financial entitlements provided to staff who are being relocated or transferred to another KNUST premises such as Obuasi, Accra etc.  
Also, providing financial support to the families of deceased university staff members.  
  
Refund of Educational Expenses and Book Grant 

This service is designed to support university employees in furthering their education and academic development. It provides reimbursement for approved educational expenses (such as tuition, course fees, and professional development) and grants for textbooks and learning materials, reducing the financial burden on staff pursuing further studies or professional training.

Salary Advance 

Staff members can request a salary advance under specific conditions in line with the University’s financial and HR policies.

 

Basic School

Basic School Fees

A financial support facility that enables staff whose children attend KNUST Basic Schools to have fees deducted gradually from their salaries. 
 

Superannuation (Pensions)

Provident fund 

Is a retirement savings scheme designed to provide lump-sum benefits to staff upon retirement, resignation, or termination (subject to scheme rules).
