Admission of Candidates to Undergraduate Degree Programmes for the 2026/2027 Academic Year

WASSCE/SSSCE/ADVANCED LEVEL/MATURE/ABCE/GBCE AND IB CANDIDATES

It is announced for the information of prospective Applicants (as specified above) and the general public that application e-vouchers to Degree/Top-Up programmes of study at the University for the 2026/2027 Academic Year are sale.

Applicants who have their Examination Results at the time of application and those who will be writing WASSCE in July/August 2026 are eligible to apply.

The Sale of E-Voucher for the online Application is open to the following Applicants:

  1. WASSCE/SSSCE Holders who have credit passes (A1-C6/A-D respectively) in the following Three (3) Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science plus credit passes (A1-C6/A-D) in Three Elective subjects with an Aggregate Score of 24 or better in the relevant area of study.

OR

GENERAL BUSINESS CERTIFICATE (GBCE) AND ADVANCED BUSINESS CERTIFICATE (ABCE):

  • Credit passes in at least SIX (6) subjects including English Language and Business Mathematics at the GBCE and,
  • Credit passes in the THREE (3) relevant Compulsory subjects and THREE (3) Optional subjects at the ABCE. Applicants need both GBCE and ABCE to qualify.
  1. ADVANCED LEVEL Holders with credit passes in at least Five (5) subjects at the GCE ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics plus at least Three (3) credit passes in the relevant subjects at the Advanced Level.
  2. MATURE STUDENTS who have attained the age of 25 years or above at the time of Application. Applicants must show proof with the Birth Certificate or any documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old. In addition, applicants must have the following qualifications.
  • ADVANCED LEVEL Holders of GCE Advanced Level qualifications who have credit passes in Five (5) GCE ‘O Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics, in addition to passing an Entrance Examination and/or Interview.

OR

  • WASSCE/SSSCE Holders who have credit passes (A1-C6/A-D, respectively) in the following Three (3) core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science plus credit passes (A1-C6/A-D) in Three (3) Elective subjects with an Aggregate score of 24 or better in the relevant area of study.

OR

  • HND Holders with Three (3) years relevant working experience in addition to the Minimum Entry Requirements at WASSCE/SSSCE or Five (5) credit passes at GCE O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics.
  1. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS and all others who have any of the above qualifications or their equivalent from an accredited/recognized institution may apply.
  2. Applicants from French speaking countries must in addition to the Minimum Requirement provide a minimum of one-year English Proficiency Certificate.

HOW TO APPLY

All applicants whether, Ghanaian or International, must purchase the E-Voucher and apply by following these steps:

Option 1 (Ghanaian and International Applicants)

  • Visit the KNUST Admission Application Portal via: (HERE!)
  • Register with a valid email address.
  • Login and purchase a voucher via Mastercard, Visa or Mobile Money.
  • Proceed with application

Option 2 (Ghanaian Applicants only)

  • From a mobile device, type *415*55#
  • Follow the prompts to purchase a voucher via Mobile Money
  • Visit the KNUST Admission Application Portal via: (HERE!)
  • Register with a valid email address
  • Login, validate the purchased voucher, and proceed with application.

Option 3 (Ghanaian Applicants only)

  • Purchase a voucher from the Regional or other designated Offices of Ghana Post Company Limited
  • Visit the KNUST Admission Application Portal via: (HERE!)
  • Register with a valid email address
  • Login, validate the purchased voucher, and proceed with application.

APPLICATION PROCESSING FEE

  • Ghanaian Applicants: GH¢250.00
  • International Applicants: US$100.00 or Cedi equivalent

APPLICATION DEADLINES

  • Mature and All Top-Up Applications: Monday August 31, 2026.
  • International Applications: Monday August 31, 2026.
  • Ghanaian Applications with foreign results and others: Monday August 31, 2026.
  • Ghanaian Applications with WASSCE results: Until WASSCE results are released.

APPLICANTS SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING

  1. The online application E-VOUCHERS can be obtained by Ghanaian applicants for GH¢250.00.
  2. Ghanaian applicants who apply with foreign qualifications from schools in Ghana which write the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the IGCSE should obtain the e-voucher for GH¢250.00.
  3. All international applicants are expected to pay to the University a non-refundable application processing fee of US$100.00 GH¢1,550.00.
  4. All prospective applicants are advised to visit the University’s website: www.knust.edu.gh and carefully read all relevant information before applying. Applicants are required to visit the University’s website at https://apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions/ to complete their application process online. They are to use the Login and Pin Number provided on the      E-Voucher for this purpose. Failure to do so renders the application invalid.
  5. Applicants must scan and attach all relevant and mandatory documents to the online application as follows: Birth Certificate/ECOWAS ID card/ WASSCE/SSSCE certificate/results slips, if available/or any academic/professional certificates/results slip.
  6. After the application has been submitted online, applicants are advised to print out a copy for their own use/reference.
  7. Applicants SHOULD NOT submit a hard copy of the application to the University.
  8. Only results and/or documents provided by applicants at the time of submission of application shall be considered.
  9. An applicant’s failure to input Examination Details (i.e. index number, year of exams and exams type) and/or other relevant information properly online shall deny the applicant admission to a programme of study at the University.
  10. Admissions to all programmes of study at the University are transparently administered by the Central Undergraduate Admissions Committee without any other considerations and/or solicitations.
  11. Any applicant who makes any form of solicitation to any person or group of persons for the purpose of influencing and/or gaining admission into the University does so at his/her own risk.
  12. Applicants are to note that upon release of the WAEC results, the admission portal would be opened for one (1) week for applicants to make any correction or amendments with respect to their Names, Index Numbers, Year of Exam, Type of Exams, and Choice of Programmes etc.
  13. The NAME of applicants and its arrangements on the Application Form MUST be EXACTLY same as on the certificate (s)/Results Slip(s). Applicants who have changed their name must show proof of the new name with the Gazette or any legitimate documentary proof of the change of name which is at least 5 years old.
  14. For applicants for Top-up and other mature programmes:
    • Applicants for Pharm D programme Top-Up must be a Practicing Pharmacist with Three (3) Years’ Post registration experience.
    • All Top- Up Programmes are Fee-Paying Only.
  15. Any application that is not fully and/or properly completed at the time of submission shall not be processed and/or considered.
  16. The University does not accept multiple applications from the same applicants during an application window. Such applications may not be processed.
