Jeshurun Markin, an alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), has launched InsightHub, a digital platform designed to connect individuals and organisations with equity investment, debt funding and fundraising opportunities for humanitarian initiatives.

Markin, a software engineer and businessman based in Manhattan, developed the platform from an interest in entrepreneurship and investment that began while he was studying Computer Science at KNUST in 2012.

According to a profile published by TechBullion, Markin began investing his own money in emerging startups while still a student, supporting businesses at different stages of development.

The experience, the publication said, strengthened his interest in helping entrepreneurs gain access to the financial resources needed to develop their businesses and eventually contributed to the creation of InsightHub.

The platform provides a structured system through which entrepreneurs and organisations can seek equity investment and debt financing, while individuals and groups undertaking humanitarian initiatives can raise funds.

InsightHub also incorporates measures intended to promote accountability and transparency in fundraising. These include holding funds in escrow, conducting checks on campaigns and monitoring the use of funds after campaigns.

Campaign organisers are also expected to report to contributors on how funds are used.

Markin's background in software engineering and investment informed the development of the platform, which seeks to use technology to connect people and organisations with funding opportunities.

InsightHub is now open to individuals and organisations seeking equity investment, debt funding or support for humanitarian initiatives.

Markin studied Computer Science at KNUST and began his early investment activities during his time at the University.
