The Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), Prof. Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson, has been honoured by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) in recognition of her leadership and outstanding contributions to pharmacy education and the advancement of the pharmacy profession in Ghana.
The honour was conferred during the Society's flagship Pharmacy Education Forum and Gala Night, held at the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Jubilee Hall at the Manhyia Palace as part of activities marking PSGH's 90th anniversary celebrations.
His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II presented the award to Prof. Dickson in recognition of her distinguished leadership and her role as an inspiration to the pharmacy profession, particularly to young pharmacists.
The Society cited her historic achievement as KNUST's first female Vice-Chancellor, noting that she has become a role model whose leadership embodies the values the Society seeks to celebrate during its anniversary.
The event, organised under the theme, "Futureproofing Pharmacy Through Pharmacy Education," also celebrated the legacy of Prof. Albert Nee Tackie, the first Ghanaian Dean of the country's first Faculty of Pharmacy, through a forum named in his honour.
