Dr. Richard Obeng Mensah, a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), has undertaken a series of academic engagements as a visiting professor at the University of Lille in France.
During the visit, Dr. Obeng Mensah taught Artificial Intelligence and the Law from both African and European perspectives as part of the university’s Digital Law course, contributing to cross-continental discourse on emerging legal frameworks for artificial intelligence.

He also met with faculty members to explore opportunities for collaboration and academic exchange between KNUST and the University of Lille, while advancing his research in AI-related legal studies.
“The visit has strengthened ongoing discussions for various collaborations between the two institutions for mutual benefit,” Dr. Obeng Mensah said. “My research and teaching activities, coupled with my interactions with faculty, staff and students at the University of Lille, have heightened the interest of relevant stakeholders in the collaboration.”

The visiting professorship forms part of an ongoing international partnership between the law faculties of KNUST and the University of Lille.
The collaboration, which began last year, included a visit by Prof. Marcel Mortiz to KNUST, where he delivered a public lecture at the Faculty of Law.
