A Radiology Specialist at the University Hospital has been admitted as a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (WACS), marking a significant milestone for the facility’s specialist training agenda.
Dr. Brenda Abena Ampah, a Senior Medical Officer and Radiology Specialist at the University Hospital, was inducted as a Fellow in Radiology at the 66th Annual Conference of the West African College of Surgeons, held at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium of UPSA in Accra in February this year.
In addition to her induction, Dr. Ampah was awarded the Professor Ogunseyinde Ayotunde Oluremi Prize in Radiology for emerging as the best candidate in the Fellowship dissertation category, having passed the examination in one sitting.
Dr. Ampah previously earned her Membership in Radiology from the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2024. Her specialist training journey began in 2020 when she enrolled concurrently in the Membership programme of the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Fellowship programme of the West African College of Surgeons at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
She successfully passed the WACS Fellowship examinations in April 2025, pending the official induction ceremony held during the annual conference.
