The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Counselling Centre (KCC) has held ceremonies to mark the transition of leadership for its Peer Counsellors.
The handover and swearing-in took place at both the Kumasi and Obuasi campuses. Outgoing 2024/2025 executives were recognised for their dedicated service, while newly elected leaders for the 2025/2026 academic year were officially sworn in.
Head of the KCC, Mrs. Victoria De-Graft Adjei, commended the peer counsellors for their contributions to student wellbeing. She encouraged the outgoing leaders to carry their service mindset into their future careers and urged the incoming executives to strengthen the group’s presence and impact across campus.
Outgoing President Desmond Akuayi and Vice President Wisdom Gershon Tokoli delivered a joint address, reflecting on their term and expressing gratitude to the KCC for the opportunity to lead. Incoming President Louisa Adubea Kyei and Vice President Emmanuel Cobbinah outlined their vision and plans for the year ahead.
Certificates were presented to outgoing counsellors, with special awards given for outstanding service. The event concluded with the formal swearing-in of the new executives.
Counsellors present included Mrs. Bernice Serwaa Ofosuhene Peasah, Mr. Gilbert Konwie Langu, Mr. Rabbi Darko, Ms. Joan Soribang, Mrs. Winifred Bortei, Mr. Cosmos Osei Okyere, and Dr. Elizabeth Anokyewaa. Closing remarks were delivered by Mr. Cosmos Osei Okyere, the coordinator.
