The Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has called for a transformation of Tech Junction, the main entry point to both the university and the city of Kumasi, during a visit by the newly appointed Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).

"Let’s transform Tech Junction to reflect the image of KNUST and the beauty of Kumasi. It must represent the Garden City," said Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, who received MCE Ahmed Anwel Sadat.

The visit marked the MCE’s formal introduction to the university community. Dr. Kwesi Atta Snr. Aidoo, a lecturer in KNUST’s Department of Crop Science, said the engagement was part of efforts to strengthen ties between the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly and the university.
“KNUST’s role is pivotal in the municipality, and it is important that we maintain the strong, friendly, and collaborative relationship that exists between KNUST and the Assembly,” Aidoo said.
Professor Dickson congratulated the new MCE on his appointment, describing his role as one of service and accountability. She encouraged continuous dialogue and feedback between both institutions to improve service delivery.
“We have had a great relationship working with your predecessors, and we believe your tenure will bring further improvement,” she noted.
In response, MCE Sadat emphasized the need for collaboration in transforming both KNUST and the Oforikrom municipality. He expressed his commitment to the beautification of Tech Junction and proposed the development of a joint project between the Assembly and the University.
