Emeritus Professor Kwasi Kwafo Adarkwa, former Vice-Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has launched his autobiography, "Against All Odds".
The book chronicles the distinguished academic’s life journey, highlighting his challenges, achievements, and contributions to higher education and national development.
The 228-page autobiography provides deep and personal insights into Professor Adarkwa’s rise from humble beginnings to his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of KNUST and his recognition as one of Ghana’s most respected scholars and administrators.
The launch event was attended by dignitaries from academia, government, and industry, as well as students and faculty members eager to celebrate the legacy of a man whose leadership significantly shaped KNUST.

Professor Clifford Amoako, Chairman of the Planning Committee and Head of the Department of Planning, expressed his satisfaction that the book would serve as a valuable reference for future generations.
“He has left us so much to learn from a book on his life journey, a blueprint we can turn to whenever we feel lost or need guidance,” he said.
Professor Adarkwa expressed gratitude to all who supported his journey and emphasized the importance of perseverance, education, and service to society. He also shared the inspiration behind the book.
“I needed to reflect on my journey through life and share it with others. This autobiography provides an excellent opportunity to achieve that objective,” he said.
Quoting Nelson Mandela, he added, “An autobiography is not just a record of a person’s life but also a reflection of their values, beliefs, and experiences.”

Delivering the reviewer’s address, Rev. Dr. Michael Ayertey Nanor praised "Against All Odds" as a compelling narrative that offers valuable lessons in leadership, resilience, and personal growth.
“Professor Adarkwa’s story is one of overcoming the odds through hard work, discipline, and divine grace. Against All Odds is not just a personal story; it is a legacy of success, leadership, and mentorship,” he said.
The book was officially launched by the Chairman of the occasion, Nana Samuel Brew-Butler.
