As part of its 2024 annual workshop, the Registrar's Offices of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, (KNUST), embarked on a working visit to Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Cocody-Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. The purpose of the visit was to discuss areas of forging collaboration to enhance potential administrative and academic developments.

The KNUST delegation was led by the Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng, who revealed that the visit was to share best practices, understand the systems at Félix Houphouët-Boigny University and discuss potential areas for partnership.
In his remarks, Mr. Boateng expressed KNUST’s commitment to fostering academic collaborations in areas such as joint research and student exchange programs that benefit both institutions. He emphasised that universities thrive on collaboration, thus, the visit was part of his outfit’s annual workshop aimed at exploring new methods to enhance the university’s administration and academic offers.
The delegation was warmly received by the President, Professor Ballo Zié, and other management members of the Félix Houphouët-Boigny University.

The Vice-President, Professor (Mrs.) Véronique Yoboué, expressed optimism about the potential for collaboration. She noted that Félix Houphouët-Boigny University is the largest university in Côte d'Ivoire with over 45,000 student population. "Our university is committed to building partnerships. We have previously collaborated with universities in Ghana and are excited to explore further opportunities for exchange programs, benefiting both students and lecturers," she said.
Professor Sanogo Amidou, Head of the Centre for French Studies Professor Sanogo Amidou, Head of the Centre for French Studies, noted that Félix Houphouët-Boigny University, being the leading institution in the region, was keen on exploring collaboration opportunities. He highlighted the range of programs offered, with a particular emphasis on French language education, which he believed could be mutually beneficial for both institutions.
Registrar of Félix Houphouët-Boigny University, Professor Kouamélan Essetchi Paul, provided an overview of the institution's administrative structure and reaffirmed the university's readiness to engage in further discussions on the proposed collaborations.
