The Management of the Ghana University Staff Superannuation Scheme (GUSSS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has officially opened its new ultramodern Sports Complex to members of the university community and the general public.
The sports complex is opened throughout the week and provides both training and massaging sessions by professional and qualified personnel.
The grand opening of the GUSSS Sports Complex was marked with activities such as aerobics, basketball, long and table tennis, free massage and football matches. The facilities in the complex include; a 200-seat capacity AstroTurf pitch with 6-lamp flood lights, 2-lamp flood lights Basketball Court, Tennis Court, a Gymnasium fitted with state-of-the-art equipment, a Bar, Physiotherapy Unit, a Spa and a VIP lodge. The recreational facility which was commissioned earlier this year by the Chancellor of the University, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, forms part of the University’s Corporate Social Responsibility and also aims at improving the health of students, staff and the general public as a whole. The facility will also provide students with the opportunity to unearth their sporting talents.

Mr. Matthew Amoako, Manager, GUSSS Hostels, called for strict adherence to rules and regulations by patrons of the facility to help maintain it.
The facility has the following registration packages; Diamond (a year subscription, one free massage session, free water bottle, a towel and complimentary fitness consultation), Platinum (six-month subscription, free towel and complimentary fitness consultation), Gold (three-month subscription, complimentary fitness consultation), Silver (for students), Bronze (one-month subscription, complimentary fitness consultation) and Walk-In Sessions.
The GUSSS Sports Complex is located adjacent Brunei Complex on KNUST Campus.
