Dr.K.O .Boateng, a Senior Lecturer at the Computer Engineering Department led a four-member delegation from Texas Instruments (TI), and National Instruments (NI) from the United States of America (USA)to pay a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor to affirm their partnership with the University.
In a briefing, Mr Tuli Dake, an alumnus of KNUST said the collaboration with the University for the past five years has resulted in a positive dimension. He said KNUST is the first institution in Ghana that TI has collaborated with and he hoped this affiliation would strengthen Electronic Engineering for the benefit of the students and the University community as a whole.

He further stated that TI in association with the National Insturments had the interest to develop micro electronics in the Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly in Ghana. According to him, it is their prime objective to reinforce the indigenous expertise in the University.
Mr.Benjamin Sarpong, a member of the team commended the authorities for their immense contribution towards the development of the University. He said even though there are some students who have completed their Masters in micro electronics and are competent staff of TI, much concentration would be placed on nurturing students in the Electrical Engineering Department.

The Pro Vice -Chancellor, Professor Peter Donkor, who welcomed the delegation, informed them of the University's preparedness to support their cause which would be of benefit to the students and commended the delegation for expanding the knowledge base of Engineering students, as well as returning to contribute their quota to their alma mater.
