The major postal service of Ghana, Ghana Post, has presented a cheque for 10,000 Ghana cedis to KNUST during a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor in appreciation of the University's support for the postal agency over the years.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor William O. Ellis, was grateful to Ghana Post for the kind gesture and congratulated the staff of Ghana Post on their hardwork despite the challenges facing the agency. He pledged the University's continued support for the postal agency. He advised the agency to upgrade their services to meet the ever changing world of technology. The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged the staff to improve their facilities as well as their human relations.
The Ashanti Regional head of Ghana Post, Madam Faustina Arthur, expressed gratitude on behalf of Ghana Post for the University's immense support for the agency hitherto. She emphasised on the avenues through which both institutions could utilize to strengthen ties.
The Deputy Director of Ghana Post headquarters, Mr. Kojo Sarfo, appreciated the University's contributions and support towards Ghana Post and pledged improvement of service by the agency. He said, plans were underway to fuel the traditional method of operations into a computerized system. He requested for the assistance of a team from the University to assist the agency in that regard.
The Registrar, Mr. Kobby Yebo-Okrah, advised the staff to be more productive and effective in the execution of their duties. He said that, the University was poised to support local establishments such as Ghana Post.
Present were, Michael G. Nortey, Ghana Post Headquarters, Accra; Jacob Senyaglo, Osei - Adjei Yeboah, Godfred Odame Nkansah and Rita Naadu Adade all of Ghana Post Ashanti Region.
