The Leadership of the Christ Apostolic Church International, has paid a Courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. William Otoo Ellis. The Visit was to afford the leadership the chance to interact with the Vice- Chancellor and to thank him for the use of the Universities premises for its youth programme.
The Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church International, Apostle Dr. S.K. Amoaning, congratulated the Vice Chancellor for his appointment. He stated that Prof. Ellis has made tremendous impact in KNUST and therefore encouraged him to continue with his good works in the lord.
Apostle Dr. Amoaning was full of praise for KNUST for providing world class and good students for Ghana and Africa. He noted that most of the youth in his church are students of KNUST and graduates of the University who have made great strides. He was hopeful that they are confident that their students who are in KNUST would be molded in the lord. It is therefore not surprising that KNUST was chosen by the Christ Apostolic Students and Associates for their annual convention.
Apostle Dr. Amoaning said over three thousand two hundred (3,200) youth were at the convention which was on the theme: Going Beyond the horizon. He stated that KNUST has a wonderful image around the globe and revealed plans of a possible affiliation by the newly established Christ Apostolic University College.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. William Otoo Ellis commended the men of God for the visit. He said KNUST which is currently the number one University offers holistic training for the man power needs of Ghana and Africa. He noted that the University also helps in training morally upright individuals. KNUST also recognizes the spiritual needs of students and for that matter there are many religious groups on campus. All the success chalked by the University he noted is by the grace and mercies of God.
In a related development, Apostle Dr. Amoaning advised students that the future of Ghana depends on them. He said that it is time the youth learn more to take over the leadership of this country in all aspects, there is therefore the need to encourage them to allow themselves to release their potential and not to engage themselves in social vices.
