A four-man delegation from the Kristo Asafo Mission has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor William O. Ellis, to intensify its relationship with  KNUST, and donate a cash amount of GH¢ 1,000 to support the Student Financial Services Fund.

The Public Relations Manager of Kristo Asafo Mission, Mr. Kwame Osei Bempa, used the occasion to congratulate Professor Ellis on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor and expressed a goodwill message on behalf of Apostle Kwadwo Safo, the General Overseer of Kristo Asafo Mission.

Apostle Kwadwo Safo proposed a deeper partnership between Apostle School of Arts and Sciences and the KNUST to facilitate staff and students exchange in training programmes. This was contained in a statement read on his behalf.

Professor Ellis was full of praise for the official visit and donation from the Church, and hoped to reciprocate the courtesy call in future. He however, underscored the University's readiness to undertake social responsibility activities and interventions in surrounding communities towards national development.

The delegation extended an invitation to the Vice-Chancellor as guest for the "Technology Exhibition" of Apostle School of Arts and Sciences slated for 2nd January, 2011 in Accra. The General Secretary of the Church, Mr. Festus Owusu Baidu, explained that, the latest technological inventions of Apostle Safo would be displayed at the exhibition. Other members of the delegation were: Rev. P.K. Boateng, Deputy General Secretary and Pastor Kingsley Awuni.  

Among the officials who welcomed the delegation at the Vice-Chancellor's Office were: Professor Peter Donkor, the Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor; Mr. Kobby Yebo-Okrah, the Registrar; and Mr. Baah Boateng, Assistant Registrar (Student Financial Services).
