The Senior Staff Association of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology(SSA-K) has organised a send-off party for members of the Association who retired in the 2017/18 academic year. The event saw retirees with their families and executive members of the Association socialising in addition to being treated to good food and music.
Mr. George Ansong, President of SSA-K thanked the retired staff for their dedicated service to the development of the University, having spent their working life in the University. He continued that having retired honourably in the service of the University as senior staff, the event was held to help interact with the retirees and to share experiences with current staff.
Mr. Ansong noted that retirement marks another chapter in the life of every employee as it marks the end and the start of another career. He therefore urged them to be happy, embrace their new status and to remember that the Association is proud of their efforts as members of the Association and the University at large. He also advised the retirees to manage their finances and to take good care of their health.
As part of their retiring package, each retiree was given a certificate and an undisclosed amount of money.
