Reverend Chester Dekyi and wife, Gloria Dekyi have made a presentation to both the Architectural Department and KNUST Hospital respectively. The items donated included a Heavy Duty Architectural Scanner Machine for the Architecture Department and surgical disposables for the KNUST Hospital. The surgical disposables which would be used by the dental and orthopaedic clinics of the hospital included iris scissors, lens rotators, eye speculums, disposable rampley sponge, forceps, poly-filament and many others.

Rev. Chester Dekyi, Pastor in of the Grace Community Church, London Branch said the Heavy Duty Scanner machine is one of the machines used for architectural drawings by the Asparchitecture Company where he works in London. The company has acquired new equipment and therefore thought it wise to bring the abandoned machines to the department for use. He hoped to bring more machines to the department and extend some to the planning department to assist in their digital map works and land mark plotting.
Mrs. Gloria Dekyi also added that after receiving her nursing training in Ghana around the 1980s, she had always thought of coming back to help the country. As part of showing appreciation to the country for training her, she brought these items for use in the country. She explained that the surgical disposables were actually not intended for KNUST, but thought of giving everything to the KNUST Hospital after a conversation with Mr. Vincent A. Ankamah-Lomotey, Deputy Registrar, University Relations Office.
Professor Edward Badu, Provost of the College of Architecture and Planning(CAPS) who received the donation on behalf of the Architecture Department praised the couple for their benevolence and explained that the machine had come at an appropriate time especially when the Common Wealth Accreditation team will be visiting the college. He added that the machine would be added to a few others in their newly refurbished printing room to ease the pressure at the place.
Dr. Joseph Abu-Sakyi, Head of the Dental Clinic at KNUST Hospital received the items on behalf of the hospital and thanked the couple and assured them that the items would be put to use.
Present at the donation were Rev. Kankam Boadu, Head Pastor of Grace Community Church, Professor Braimah Imoro, Head of Department of Planning, Professor S. O Afram,Head of Architecture Department, Mr. Owusu A. Debra, the College Registrar for CAPS and Mr. V. A. Ankamah-Lomotey, Deputy Registrar, University Relations Office.
