Professor (Mrs.) Augustina Sylverken, a microbiologist and researcher at the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR), has been appointed Acting Vice-Dean of the International Programmes Office (IPO).
Her research focuses on emerging infectious diseases, zoonotic pathogens, and antimicrobial resistance, with collaborations involving the World Health Organization (WHO), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and several European research consortia.
As Vice-Dean, Prof. Sylverken will assist in promoting strategic partnerships, coordinating research mobility programmes, and advancing cross-disciplinary collaborations that enhance KNUST’s global research footprint.
Her experience in managing multi-institutional projects and commitment to global health make her an invaluable addition to the IPO leadership team.
