Alumni of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, who graduated in the year 2007 have donated two sets of 55 inches television and signposts to the Faculty. The sign posts are located behind the Pharmaceutics Laboratory and in front of the Old Pharmacy Block.
The donation, according to Dr. Paul Owusu Donkor, a Representative of the Alumni, was to strengthen the strong bond between the old students and the institution. He stated that their visit to the school was not only to reminisce their good times but to also inspire current students to learn hard and other old students to emulate their kind gesture.
Ms. Jennifer Manfo, Chairperson of the graduating class and Ms. Elizabeth Opoku Adusei made the donation on behalf of the class and Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, the Vice-Chancellor received the items.
Professor Obiri-Danso expressed much gratitude to the class for giving back to the institution. He implored the graduates to adopt a classroom in terms of modernizing their facilities and to share their career experiences with the students. He also called on the Alumni to support some needy students financially and give internship opportunities to students from the Faculty.
In his address, Reverend Professor Charles Ansah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, stated the vision of the Vice-Chancellor in making KNUST the leading institution in Africa and called on the Alumni to help modernize the laboratories, classrooms, offices and compound and to raise funds for the development of the University.
