A first-year Civil Engineering student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s (KNUST) Obuasi campus has received a new laptop from the AndyAmuna Foundation to support his studies.
Fuseini Boaz Yirimea was presented with the device at the Coordinating Dean’s Office in a ceremony attended by campus leadership and senior administrative staff.
The AndyAmuna Foundation was set up by the Amuna family in memory of Andy Amuna, a former KNUST valedictorian from the College of Engineering who died while in active service.
“I’m happy and grateful to the Amuna family, the AndyAmuna Foundation, and the campus leadership. I will make good use of the laptop,” Fuseini said.
Raised by his mother, a widow, Fuseini aspires to become a structural engineer. The Coordinating Dean, Prof. Lawrence Darkwah, said the donation underscored the importance of supporting young talent and praised the foundation for investing in students’ futures.
The foundation said the gesture was part of its mission to honour Andy Amuna’s legacy by helping determined students overcome barriers to their education.
