A delegation from the Faculty of Law has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W.O. Ellis. The delegation was led by the Acting Provost of College of Art and Social Sciences and Dean of Faculty of Law, Professor Stephen Offei, to deliberate on issues pertaining to the inauguration of the Ghana School of Law, Kumasi Campus, slated for November 04, 2010.
Prof. Offei expressed his gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for his invaluable contribution to the Faculty of Law. He categorically praised Prof. Ellis for his enormous support, especially when he was the Pro Vice-Chancellor.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W.O. Ellis, urged the delegation from the Faculty of Law to remain steadfast in the successes chalked with respect to quality teaching and other areas of development. Prof. Ellis suggested to the Faculty of Law to offer admission to applicants with different backgrounds in the future.
Other members of the delegation were Lawyer Papa Dadson, Chairman of the planning committee for the inauguration of the Kumasi Campus of the Ghana School of Law and Lawyer Michael Owusu, Coordinator of the Campus.
The Chairman was full of praise for the Vice-Chancellor's unflinching support to the Law School. He took the opportunity to invite the Vice-Chancellor to chair the inauguration ceremony.
The inauguration would be graced by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene and Chancellor of KNUST; Honourable (Mrs.) Justice Georgina Theodora Woode, Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana; Mrs. Betty Mould Iddrisu, Attorney General and Minister of Justice; Mr. G.A. Sarpong, Director of Legal Education, and other dignitaries.
