A multinational research team, with KNUST’s Professor Emmanuel Adinyira as the Ghana lead, has secured funding from University College London’s (UCL) Global Engagement Funds for a project aimed at advancing net-zero carbon infrastructure in Ghana’s public sector.
The project, titled “Achieving Net Zero Carbon in Infrastructure Projects: Developing NZC Capabilities by Public Sector Agencies in Ghana,” will focus on building institutional capacity to integrate carbon-neutral strategies into infrastructure planning and delivery.
The Global Project Team includes researchers from four institutions across three countries:
• Dr Francesco Di Maddaloni and Dr Selorm E. Adukpo of UCL, United Kingdom
• Prof. Emmanuel Adinyira of KNUST, Ghana
• Prof. Ika Lavagnon of the University of Ottawa, Canada
• Dr Naa Adjeley Ashiboe-Mensah Doamekpor of Ashesi University, Ghana.
The initiative aligns with Ghana’s national development goals and KNUST’s strategic focus on climate resilience and sustainable infrastructure.
UCL’s Global Engagement Funds support collaborative research that fosters international partnerships and addresses global issues.
