The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has named a park after His Royal Highness (HRH), Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, when he visited the University as part of activities to mark his visit to the Republic of Ghana.
The ceremony was witnessed by management of the University, alumni of British universities, the university community, school children, the media and the general public. The Prince of Wales Park is located close to the main entrance of the University.
His Royal Highness planted a tree at the park and was assisted by the Vice-Chancellor and members of management of the University and representatives of the Chancellor, to unveil a signage at the “Prince of Wales Park”.
The University also hosted The Duchess of Cornwall, Lady Camilla and Lady Julia Osei Tutu, wife of the Asantehene at the Great Hall where they attended a literacy exhibition of innovative learning materials and methods developed by the Transforming Teacher Education and Learning (T-TEL) with the support of the UK Government’s Department for International Development.
