The Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has toured the Obuasi Campus to inspect the readiness of the Campus for the 2020/2021 Academic Year. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson with her team inspected various ongoing infrastructural works on the Campus.
Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson applauded the students for adhering to the Covid-19 protocols instituted by the University and urged them to continue staying safe to ensure a successful academic year. The Vice-Chancellor at the Freshmen Orientation disclosed that, KNUST has moved up on the international ranking of universities by the US News and World Report from 706th to 580th position.
She added that, KNUST retained its rank as the best University in Ghana and moved two places up from its 2019 ranking to be ranked the 12th best University in Africa in the latest ranking, 2021 Best Global Universities in Africa. She encouraged the Freshers to study hard and obey the rules of the University and contribute towards uplifting the corporate image of KNUST.
To ensure smooth commencement of academic programmes under the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences in the Obuasi Campus for the 2020/2021 Academic Year, the team inspected various ongoing infrastructural works in the Faculty.
At the end of the tour, the Vice-chancellor expressed satisfaction at the measures put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19 to ensure smooth academic work.
