Innovators from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) participated in the Ghana Digital Innovation Week (GDIW) which took place from 22nd to 26th November at the Grand Arena, inside the Accra International Conference Centre. These innovators were AppNet Consult Limited, Adroit Bureau Limited, Hypacart and Project Ananse.
The GDIW, convened by His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, and other key ecosystem actors and enablers, is a 5-day series of events and activities for multi-stakeholders to celebrate the accomplishments of Ghana's digital innovation ecosystem and build momentum towards a shared vision for its future development.
The event, with the theme “Mobilising Collective Action and Investment to Catalyse Growth in Ghana's Digital Innovation Ecosystem,” saw the presence of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, some government officials, innovators, and digital enthusiasts.
The GDIW comes from Trilateral Cooperation between Ghana, Germany and Israel on innovation and development to promote government level awareness for digital innovation while also adding momentum to the growth of the digital innovation ecosystem in Ghana.

Adroit Bureau Limited, makers of the Adroit ERP, describe the software as a customizable Enterprise Resource Planning Software for Businesses. It is designed to take advantage of new technologies such as IoT (Internet of Things) and Artificial Intelligence to greatly improve business productivity. Some of the modules Include Accounting, Payroll, Bill of Materials, Customer Relationship Management and Operational Module.
Hypacart uses online retail technologies to help 10mm, urban residents in Ghana find and shop from retailers with the best deals in nearby major open-air markets, at 2hr doorstep delivery instead of 7hrs. We give consumers the experience of doing traditional shopping in open-air markets, but without their pain points.
Project Ananse is on a mission to teach moral, ethical, political, social, and cultural values using virtual and augmented reality mobile applications.
Their first innovation, Ananse AR, entertains and educates its users, the same way a tour guide would but by using 3D avatars and other animated visual cues, in virtual and augmented reality.
