KNUST HOSPITAL AFFILIATES WITH ROBERT WOOD JOHNSON UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
The KNUST Hospital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in USA.
The agreement between KNUST and UMDNJ will foster a mutual understanding to strengthen cultural ties and provide opportunities and provide opportunities to expand the experiences horizons of the participating students, faculty and professional staff of both institutions.
KNUST and UMDNJ will collaborate in the development of an exchange programme for students in both the undergraduate or postgraduate programmes who can acquire elective credit for their corresponding programmes of study in the University of origin.
Student exchange may be for an elective clinical rotation or a semester if the elective courses in the given semester parallel those of their home school.
KNUST and UMDNJ will collaborate and develop joint research projects in disciplines and fields of mutual interest. This may include clinical laboratory professionals, graduate courses or other programs as may be negotiated under the terms of this Agreement.
Academic Program:
KNUST and UMDNJ will develop and offer joint courses (written and audiovisual) on teaching programs as well as innovative techniques and formats employed in the educational process.
KNUST and UMDNJ will jointly develop and participate in pedagogical scientific, technical seminars and meetings in competency and school based activities.
Jointly KNUST and UMDNJ will encourage the exchange of experiences in activities of a social and university nature where professors, professional staff, undergraduate and graduate students will be encouraged to participate.
The affiliation was initiated by the Director of University Health Services, Dr Yaw Bio in New Jersey, USA and finalized by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Kwasi Kwarfo Adarkwa.
