The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi has held its 2024/2025 End of First Semester Thanksgiving Service under the theme “Oh, magnify the Lord with me,” drawn from Psalm 34:3.
The event, organised by the Students’ Chaplaincy Council (SCC), brought together students and chaplaincy leaders from all 16 denominations under the SCC for a vibrant moment of worship, reflection, and gratitude.
The thanksgiving service began with a colourful procession by the University Choir, dressed in their distinctive purple and white vestments, leading the congregation in solemn hymns.

Rev. Dr. Joseph Acheampong, Protestant Chaplain of KNUST, delivered a sermon, focusing on Luke 17:11: the story of the ten lepers.
He emphasized the importance of gratitude, stating, “God expects us always to be appreciative of what He does for us, as a family, a university community, or a nation. We are here to express our hearty appreciation to God.”
Also addressing the gathering was Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony Narh, Catholic Chaplain of KNUST, who revisited Psalm 34 and reflected on the journey of the university community.
“We have a lot to give thanks to God as a university community. We have our ups and downs, but we can say we have a smooth environment for academic activities,” he noted.
The service featured spirited musical performances, including praise sessions led by the King’s Praise, and song ministrations from the Charis Family Choir and Pax Choir. The event culminated in prayers of thanksgiving offered by Pastor Jonathan Ebo-Quaye and Enoch Neequaye.
