The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (FPPS) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi has presented Pharmaclean Hand Sanitizers to the Ghana Prisons Service in the Ashanti Region.
The Dean of FPPS, Professor Berko Panyin Anto at the presentation, said his outfit was concerned about the welfare of Prison Staff and inmates in the Ashanti Region in this trying time of the Covid-19 epidemic. The Faculty as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities, therefore decided to donate Pharmaclean Hand Sanitizers, produced by the Faculty to the Prisons Service.
Deputy Director of Prisons, Mr. Samuel Owusu Amponsah who received the products said the Service was grateful for the donation. The Ashanti Regional Director of Prisons, who was highly elated at the gesture said the product had come at the right time. He promised that the product would be put to good use for the safety of staff of the service and inmates.
The FPPS increased the production of the alcohol-based World Health Organization standard Pharmaclean Sanitizer for the Ghanaian market in response to the high demand and cost of sanitizers in the country. The high quality and affordable Pharmaclean Hand Sanitizer has gradually become the preferred choice by individuals and corporate organizations. Approved by the Food and Drugs Authority, it is packaged 250ml, 500ml and 5litres.
