The Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has donated fifty brand new Intel Smart laptops to the Ayeduase Roman Catholic Cluster of Schools. Reverend Dr. Peter Addai Mensah, the Catholic Chaplain, dedicated the laptops.
The ceremony was witnessed by some members of management, traditional leaders, the Municipal Chief Executive for Oforikrom, Assemblyman for the Ayeduase area and some members of the Ayeduase Roman Catholic School Management.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, made the presentation on behalf of management of the University. He said the donation forms part of the University’s corporate social responsibility to its surrounding communities.
Professor Obiri-Danso indicated that the donation is a sequel to the free Information Communication Technology (ICT) training that the University had been organising for the pupils of the School and in fulfilment of the promise he made to the School and the traditional leaders to facilitate teaching and learning of ICT.
The Chief of Ayeduase, Nana Opoku Agyemang Bawua Nsafo III, on behalf of the School thanked the University for the continuous support to the community. He however, appealed to management to consider extending the campus shuttle service to Ayeduase to enable students who stay outside also enjoy the service and to facilitate their movement.
