A delegation from the University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus (UTSC) led by the Vice-President, Professor Wisdom Tettey has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, as part of their working visit to Ghana. The delegation was received by the Vice-Chancellor at the Council Chamber of the University on Thursday, 6th April 2023.

Professor Tettey expressed his delight in the warm welcome, stating that the purpose of their visit was to reinforce the existing relationship between both institutions. He mentioned that his outfit seeks to deepen and explore further collaboration for sustainable development citing the Mastercard Foundation Health Collaborative programme at KNUST as an example of the partnership they wish to deepen.
He emphasised the necessity of entrepreneurship for a thriving populace and observed that utilising young people's talents will help an economy grow. "Our objective is to strengthen our partnership and explore new areas while deepening old areas to develop our communities," he continued.

In her response, the Vice-Chancellor Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson indicated that KNUST believes in constructive partnerships and all-inclusive education. As a result, she lauded the team from UTSC for championing the cause to explore further collaboration regarding the Mastercard Health Collaborative Programme that also includes Persons with Disability (PWDs). She reiterated that KNUST is committed and ready to ‘walk and work’ with them in fostering this existing relationship.
Professor Dickson emphasised that KNUST's vision is to improve the quality of life of the people they serve and that partnerships with institutions like UTSC play a critical role in achieving this goal. She hoped that their continued collaboration will yield further beneficial results in the future.
Professor Tettey was accompanied by Professor Alexie Tcheuyap, Associate Vice-President; Mr. Carlos Vargas, Director of International and Global Engagement; Mr. Dave Fenton, Assistant Director of Management; Mr. Efosa Obano, Manager of Black Founders Network; Dr. Ernest Ofori Asamoah, Program Officer, West Africa.
The delegation toured the Business Incubation Centre, the KNUST Hospital, and the various Colleges, and Centres within the University. They also had thorough discussions with the International Programs Office (IPO), Office of Grants and Research (OGR) as well as the Mastercard Foundation Health Collaborative team.
