The meeting began at 10:38am with an opening prayer by Tek. Francis Arthur (Takoradi Chapter Rep).

i. The National President chaired, opened the meeting, welcomed all present and stated the purpose of the meeting as itemized on the day’s agenda attached.

- 1. READING OF PREVIOUS MEETING’S MINUTES:
i. Read by Tek. Eunice Akosua Ofosua Amoako, National General Secretary (NGS).
ii. After some corrections made, a motion for the acceptance and adoption of the minutes for discussion was carried by Tek. Maxwell Asiamah and seconded by Tek. Kwamina Bamfo Agyei.
- 2. MATTERS ARISING
i. Levying Graduating Year (Class)
- Campus Chapter led by its President, Tek. Dr. Isaac Dadzie (Tek. Maxwell Asiamah was to inform him) was charged to explore all avenues, form linkages with Mr. Festus Nyame (Asst. Registar I / C Alumni Affairs), SRC leadership etc & come out with concrete plans for collecting Recruitment / Induction levy from final year students –i.e. incoming ALUMNI.
- Form a three (3) - man committee to lead this drive; highlighting benefits, aims & objectives of the Association.
- Their EMAIL ADDRESES & MOBILE NUMBERS of these final year students must also be collated & sent to the National Secretariat.
- A collation of Students’ activities in which the Alumni can effectively participate in to enhance our interaction with the students and therefore raise awareness, instigate and hold their attention and perhaps involvement in future Alumni Association’s activities is to be sent the Natl. General Secretary.
- Campus Chapter President Tek. Dr. Isaac Dadzie is to take charge & send feedback to the National President.
ii. FRATERNAL VISIT
- The scheduled visit to Koforidua for Fun games by the Tema Alumni Chapter took place on 29th October, 2011. One Teknokrat from Akosombo / Akuse Chapter was present.
- Report on it is made by Tema Chapter below.
- KNUST @ 60 Alumni Awards & Fundraising DINNER Ball on 17th Dec, 2011
- All preparations are on course for a successful event.
- Invitations to Dignitaries and Special guests have all been sent. Some responses have been received.
- Institutional visit are underway to mobilize Teknokrats to attend in their numbers.
- Institutional / Chapter sale of tickets are being encouraged
- Challenges:
- Funding is greatest hurdle of all, discussions still are going.
- A member suggested we write to Ashanti Gold, Obuasi Management & staff (mostly Teknokrats) to invite & solicit sponsorship.
- Appeal to members to advertise the event for members to patronize & turn up in their numbers was made.
- Suggestion to have about 10 couples from each chapter to attend the ball was made.
- Tickets are going for the stated price because of the Fundraising nature of the ball.
- 4. 2012 NATIONAL BIENNIAL CONGRESS AT KOFORIDUA
- The detailed report & workplan presented was accepted.
- An additional idea of adopting a village as an Alumni community development & participation project was accepted by Council and given the go ahead for prosecution, & this is to be spearheaded by the Koforidua Chapter.
- The Planning Committee is to contact the Takoradi Chapter for advice.
- Congress dates should be in August / September / October.
- Media launching should be in February.
