The Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Accra Chapter has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi to provide career guidance and professional opportunities in Information Technology.
The ISACA, Accra Chapter President, Mr. Daniel Gyampo, expressed his delight in the collaboration with KNUST. He stated that his outfit is an international professional association focused on Information Technology (IT), Audit, Risk, Governance and Security to equip IT practitioners with knowledge, credentials, and career advancement skills.

Mr. Gyampo commended the opportunity to engage with academia, highlighting KNUST as the first institution their Association is collaborating with to train students in IT fields to become industry-ready professionals. According to him, the contribution of IT to industry is huge, hence, the need to train students with industry materials for their professional development. He hoped for successful collaboration which would serve as the future blueprint for other institutions.

The Director of the University Information Technology Services (UITS), KNUST, Mr. Emmanuel N. O. Afful, lauded ISACA, Accra Chapter for the partnership which is geared towards exploring opportunities for collaboration, research, and development. He was hopeful that the collaboration would result in a deeper knowledge in IT for the benefit of both parties.

In his remarks, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo, emphasised the importance of capacity building and training of 21st-century students with hands-on experience in the world of work. He identified some gaps that deprive students of being industry-ready and hoped that the collaboration with the ISACA, Accra Chapter would forge a pathway for exploring opportunities to bridge those gaps.
Professor Owusu-Dabo encouraged the UITS, KNUST and the ISACA, Accra Chapter to work together to achieve the objective of the collaboration.
Present at the meeting from the ISACA, Accra Chapter team were Mr. Stanley Asante Berko, Academics Chairperson; and Mr. Terry Kofi Asideu, Brands and Marketing Chairperson. Also from KNUST were Mr. Isaac Berko, Deputy Registrar, Legal; Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, Deputy Registrar, University Relations Office and Mr. Emmanuel Mfum-Mensah, Systems Analyst, UITS.
