Blessing Agboka, a Business Administration student specialising in International Business at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) has gained practical corporate experience through an internship at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Lands Commission.
Agboka was assigned to the Estate Department, marking her first exposure to a corporate work environment.
“It was my first experience working in a corporate field. It has broadened my understanding and prepared me for the future,” she said.
Although the role was not directly related to her area of specialisation, she said the experience strengthened her understanding of concepts taught in class.
“It’s not directly related, but the experience helped me understand better what we were taught in class,” she noted.
During the internship, Agboka carried out routine administrative duties, including drafting memos and following up on payments for completed assignments.
“It included writing memos and sending them to the various offices and going to the accounts office to collect payments for certain works done,” she explained.
She described the internship as a valuable opportunity that enhanced both her professional skills and academic knowledge.
“I had hands-on experience with what has been taught in class,” she added.
