The German Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Dr Manus Haas has visited KNUST to acquaint himself with developments in relation to German initiatives and projects on campus .He first called on the Vice-Chancellor and toured the premises of the German sponsored Research Center-Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research into Tropical Medicine(KCCR).
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K.K Adarkwa, introduced and welcomed the Ambassador to KNUST and lauded the lasting relationship between KNUST and the German government. He spoke on projects already underway with assistance from the German government such as the Spring Programme.
He added that the University has also established a language centre and 50 students have so far offered to enroll in the German language. Prof. Adarkwa said that it was expedient for a mutual relationship to continually be strengthened since its significance does not only reflect in the cultural perspective but also in technology.
Dr. Manus Haas expressed delight in the layout and beautiful campus of the University. He also commended the good relations KNUST has with Germany as compared to other institutions. He was highly impressed about the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).
He also spoke on the collaboration between the German government and Ghana in the energy sector, adding that the German government has a lot to offer in the energy sector and this was a good opportunity for growth in the area of energy for this famous University
