Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, Vice-Chancellor, has commissioned two newly refurbished students’ reading rooms at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the College of Health Science. The main reading room and the annex were refurbished at the cost of 282,500 and 11,389.40 cedis respectively. The work was funded by Kingdom Books and Stationery Limited (KBSL) and Danny Praise Computers Limited (DPCL).
Reverend Father Dr. Peter Addai Mensah, the Catholic Chaplain dedicated the reading rooms.
Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, thanked the leadership of the Faculty for ensuring the comfort of staff and students. He was grateful to the two benefactors who continue to support the University in diverse ways. The Vice-Chancellor intimated that the University could not do it alone and called for more support.
Professor Mrs. Rita Dickson, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, thanked DPCL and KBSL for their continuous support to the Faculty and the University. She promised that the facility would serve its intended purpose and would be properly maintained.
Mr. Peter Akomaning, Financial Controller of KBSL, stated that KNUST has been a partner to his outfit for about 20 years and that his organization was proud to be associated with KNUST. He revealed that KBSL has been supporting needy students of the university. He pledged his outfit’s continuous support to KNUST as a quality and a global brand, to ensure that it continues to produce world class graduates.
Mr. Akomaning promised to provide two projectors to facilitate teaching and learning in the Faculty. He was grateful to the University for the cordial relationship between the two institutions.
Mr. Daniel Agyei, Chief Executive Officer of Danny Praise Limited, revealed that as an alumnus, his support to the Faculty was his own contribution and a way of giving back to the institution which trained him.
The Ghana Pharmaceutical Students Association presented the two benefactors with citations.
