In a bid to position KNUST as a premier institution in Ghana and Africa as a whole in the area of science and technology through innovative measures, the Centre for Business Development (CBD) would in diverse ways deepen collaboration with the University Relations Office (URO) aimed at moving the University forward.
This was made known in a PowerPoint presentation delivered by the Officer of the KNUST Centre for Business Development, Mr. Ralph Nyadu-Addo. He used the occasion to unveil the vision, mission and the modus operandi of the CBD to URO staff.
Mr. Nyadu-Addo underscored the need for his Centre to work hand-in-hand with URO to link the industry with academia using innovative business approaches. He, therefore, identified some investment opportunities in KNUST including the establishment of a new Teaching Hospital, recreational and tourism facilities, modern international conference facilities and KNUST Technology Park.
Touching on the working partnership with the URO, Mr. Nyadu-Addo, outlined KNUST's 60th Anniversary preparation, community impact programme, projecting the profile of some successful alumni and maintaining a healthy relationship with the media to project the image of the University as some of the principal areas the Centre would facilitate jointly with the Relations Office.
On his part, the University Relations Officer, Mr. Solomon Panford, welcomed the partnership and expressed the hope that the mutual collaboration would among other things play a significant role in positioning KNUST as a premier institution in Ghana and Africa at large.
The presentation attracted the entire staff of URO from the Alumni Office, Publications and Documentation Unit and the Media Relations and Protocol Unit. Among some sectional heads present were Mr. S. Kojo Mbra Assan and Mr. Kingsley Tabi.
