A distinguished alumni, Arc. William Peter Nii Teiko Evans-Anfom, (FGIA, PPGIA) is set to receive the Honorary Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA).
The conferment, which recognizes his exemplary contributions to architecture and academia, will take place during the NIA’s 65th Anniversary Commemoration at the Ladi Kwali Hall of the African Continental Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria, on Wednesday, 14th May 2025.
The NIA, in a formal letter signed by its Honorary General Secretary Arc. Ibeanu Chike Chamberlain, FNIA, commended Arc. Evans-Anfom for his “exemplary leadership, selfless service to humanity, excellent representation, and fraternal support of the activities of the Nigerian Institute of Architects over the years.”
His name now joins a prestigious list of past recipients that includes former Nigerian Presidents Shehu Shagari and Olusegun Obasanjo.
Mr. Evans-Anfom’s architectural career spans nearly four decades. He began as a full-time lecturer at KNUST before going on to support the development of young architects as a part-time lecturer and educator.
He later played a pivotal role in establishing a Design course at Ashesi University, where he taught for four years, and he remains actively involved in architectural education at Central University.
Professionally, he is the principal of Evans-Anfom and Associates, a multidisciplinary consulting firm that has delivered successful projects across Ghana, Togo, and Benin
Beyond practice, Arc. Evans-Anfom has served the architectural community in numerous capacities. He is a Fellow and Past President of the Ghana Institute of Architects and has represented West Africa as Vice President of the Africa Union of Architects (AUA).
He has been involved in architectural validation panels, served as a juror for international design competitions, and contributed to global conferences under the Commonwealth Association of Architects, the International Union of Architects, and more.
As a former national athlete, Mr. Evans-Anfom once represented Ghana in both cricket and volleyball, an enduring testament to his well-rounded character.
As KNUST continues to celebrate the achievements of its alumni, we commend Arc. Evans-Anfom for this well-deserved recognition and his lifelong commitment to architectural excellence in Ghana and beyond.
