Akwasi Amoako Sarpong has been elected President of the Graduate Students' Association of Ghana (GRASAG), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) chapter, after securing an overwhelming mandate in the Association's 2025/2026 academic year elections.

Official results released by the GRASAG Electoral Commission showed that Amoako Sarpong polled 1,669 votes, representing 93.61% of valid votes cast for the presidency, defeating Selorm Kofi Ackuaku, who obtained 99 votes (5.55%).

The elections also produced a new team of executives to lead the Association.

Francisca Gyimah was elected General Secretary after receiving 1,687 "Yes" votes, representing 94.62%, against 46 "No" votes (2.58%). David Akwasi Addai secured the Treasurer position with 1,705 "Yes" votes (95.63%), while 42 voters (2.36%) voted against his candidature.

Mabel Mensah was endorsed as Women's Commissioner with 631 "Yes" votes, representing 94.89%, compared with 20 "No" votes (3.01%). Agyei Joshua was elected Organizing Secretary after obtaining 1,702 "Yes" votes (95.46%), while 42 voters (2.36%) voted "No."

For the position of International Students Coordinator, Kouokam Fogang Franck Diderique received 1,606 "Yes" votes, representing 90.07%, with 121 "No" votes (6.79%).

According to the Electoral Commission, 1,791 graduate students were verified to vote, of whom 1,783 cast their ballots, representing a voter turnout of about 99.6%. Eight verified voters did not cast ballots. The Commission also recorded 665 women voters.
