Samuel Obiri Yeboah, B.A. (’22), has been elected President of the National Union of Ghanaian Students (NUGS) UK Chapter.
Mr. Obiri Yeboah, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English, is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in International Business Management at Coventry University.
During his undergraduate studies, he served as SRC Presidential Envoy in 2019 and later as SRC Chief of Staff in 2022.
He will serve alongside Gifty Abbam Tawiah, an alumna of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi who has also been elected as the General Secretary of the NUGS UK Chapter.
Gifty studied Culture, Tourism and Hospitality and was a former General Secretary of the Faculty of Social Sciences and is currently a student at the University of Leeds.
Mr. Obiri Yeboah expressed gratitude to the leadership of NUGS for the confidence in him and outlined his vision for the chapter.
He noted that under his leadership, the chapter aims to position itself as a credible and confident voice for Ghanaian students in the United Kingdom, particularly in academic and policy-related spaces.
Mr. Obiri Yeboah also emphasised the importance of NUGS UK serving as a bridge between Ghanaian students, UK educational institutions, the Ghana High Commission, and other international student bodies.
