A delegation of the International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE) 2012 made up of Ghanaian and British Cadets has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor (VC), Professor William Otoo Ellis.
According to Mr. Nicholas Nii Amatefio, National Cadet Coordinator and leader of the delegation, the visit was aimed at informing the VC of their mission on the KNUST Campus and the Kumasi Metropolis as a whole.
Mr. Amatefio said IACE is carrying out a two week exchange programme in Aviation, Culture, Tourism and any Identified Community Project. He also revealed that as part of their presence on Campus, IACE will develop a Bilateral Exchange Programme between Hall Cadets of KNUST and the United Kingdom (UK) through the National Cadet Office.
Professor Ellis welcomed the delegation and promised to ensure that they have a wonderful stay in the University Community. He was also enthused about the idea of the bilateral exchange programme between the Hall Cadets and the UK. Professor Ellis stated his preparedness to facilitate this programme saying; it will go a long way to develop the Corps in the University.
The International Air Cadet Exchange is a worldwide Corp made up of twenty-one member countries with Ghana as the only African Member Country.
Some leaders of the IACE who were part of the delegation are Squadron Leader David Knight and Squadron Leader Patricia Mellish.
