Professor Frank O. Kwami, a Former Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, and Chairman of the National Council on Tertiary Education has passed on. News of his death was officially made known to the University Community in a letter signed by his wife, Elaine Kwami. He passed away on Sunday, 20th May, 2012 at Nyaho Clinic, a private hospital in Accra.
Professor Kwami, a German trained mechanical engineer was a lecturer who rose through the ranks to become Vice-Chancellor from 1984 to 1992. He also served KNUST in various capacities even after his tenure of office. Prof. F. O. Kwami was survived by a wife and four children.
His funeral would be held on 21st July 2012 at the Dela Cathedral of the Evangelical Presbyterian (EP) Church at Ho. The full details of the funeral rites shall be published in due course.
