The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST) has renewed the appointments of three senior officers following approval by the University Council at its 293rd Regular Meeting held on June 18, 2026.
The renewals affect the Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Internal Auditor and the Director of University Information Technology Services (UITS).
Professor Dadson Awunyo-Vitor's appointment as Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources has been renewed for a further three-year term from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2029.
An agricultural economist and academic leader, Professor Awunyo-Vitor has provided strategic leadership for the College since his initial appointment. Under his tenure, the College has continued to strengthen its teaching, research and outreach activities in agriculture, agribusiness and natural resource management.
The Council also renewed the appointment of Mr. Moses Tsiquaye as Internal Auditor for a two-year term from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2028.
As head of the University's Internal Audit Directorate, Mr. Tsiquaye oversees internal control systems, risk management processes and compliance mechanisms aimed at promoting accountability, transparency and sound financial governance.
In addition, Mr. Emmanuel Nii Okaidza Afful's appointment as Director of University Information Technology Services has been renewed for a five-year term from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2031.
Mr. Afful has played a key role in advancing KNUST's digital transformation agenda, leading initiatives that support information technology infrastructure, digital learning platforms, cybersecurity and enterprise information systems.
