An alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), Mr. Ebenezer Sasu, has launched an innovative hybrid drone-ground delivery platform aimed at improving logistics and on-demand delivery services across Ghana.

Mr. Sasu, an aerospace engineer and entrepreneur, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wingxtra Aerospace, a technology company established in 2019 to provide faster, smarter and more reliable delivery services by integrating drones with conventional ground transportation.

The company's hybrid logistics model deploys drones for urgent deliveries and lightweight parcels, while electric bicycles, motorcycles and vans are used for larger consignments or routes where ground transportation is more efficient. The platform automatically determines the most suitable delivery method by considering parcel size, delivery distance, urgency and prevailing traffic conditions.

Wingxtra has also developed an intelligent dispatch and tracking system that continuously analyses vehicle locations, drone availability and order specifications to identify the most efficient delivery route. The platform enables customers and merchants to monitor deliveries in real time, providing visibility into parcel movement and estimated arrival times.

Beyond logistics, Mr. Sasu continues to advance aerospace innovation. In 2025, he co-founded OrcaDynamics, a company dedicated to designing drones and aerial systems using advanced 3D modelling and printing technologies. The company also supports users in assembling and operating their own aircraft.

Mr. Sasu earned his Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering from KNUST. During his professional career, he served as an intern with the Communications Squadron of the Ghana Air Force before working as an Aerospace Engineer at Proforce, a Nigerian defence manufacturing company specialising in armoured vehicles and aerospace solutions.
