The Ghanaian Association of South Jersey has donated a collection of books to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi to support teaching, learning and research.
The consignment covers disciplines including engineering, law, business, science and the social sciences.

Association President George Sarpong said the gesture was inspired by his own experience as a student with limited access to textbooks.
“When I was in school, we often struggled to access just one book. I thought, why not do something to help people back home?” he said.
Mr. Sarpong noted that while the group was formed to support the Ghanaian community in New Jersey, members also wanted to contribute to education in Ghana.
He further explained that the books were initially earmarked for his alma mater, University of Ghana, but he was persuaded by Prof. Bernard Baiden, whose uncle, Mr. Jacob Baiden, serves as the Association’s Vice President, to donate them to KNUST.

Deputy Librarian Dr. Edward Mensah Borteye thanked the association, describing the donation as “an act of patriotism” that would strengthen the library’s mission to provide information resources for students and the public.
