The newly formed Association, Campus Traditional Rulers chaired by Nana Professor Edusah Sampson the Paramount Chief of Asebu Traditional Area, Senior Research Fellow and the Director of Bureau of Integrated Rural Development (BIRD) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson at the Council Chamber.
The rulers are KNUST employees who serve as Chiefs and Queen Mothers in their respective towns and villages.
Nana Professor Edusah Sampson was grateful for the warm reception given to them and stated that the visit was to officially introduce themselves to the University. ‘The Association seeks to support the day-to-day administration of the University and assist in solving the problem of land encroachment of KNUST lands by neighbouring towns,’ he revealed.
He also expressed his satisfaction with how the University is setting good standards in several sectors in Ghana and globally and pledged their support.
Professor (Mrs.) Dickson expressed her appreciation to the traditional leaders for their commitment. According to her, the support promised by the rulers will help augment the University's activities and operations. She wished them well in their endeavours and prayed for the success of the Association.
Members of the Association include Nana Professor Ohyeawora Frimpong Amoako-Atta (Vice-Chairperson), Nana Kwadwo Appiah-Kubi (Secretary), Nana Kwantwi Yeboah Afari (Organizer), Nana Boakye Yiadom Nkwantabisa (Financial Secretary), Nana Boakye Yiadom, Nana Adomako Ansah, Nana Pusu Kwao Owosoadotor, Nana Professor Paul Sarfo Mensah, Nana Owusu Boadi Amponim II, Nana Professor Badu, Nana Adomako Ampomah I, Nana Ama Dufie and Nana Konadu Yiadom.
