The KNUST Web Content Management Team has organised a two-day training programme for its members and other participants from the University Relations Office at the ICT Centre.
In order to effectively manage information on the KNUST website, the University Relations Office in collaboration with the University Information Technology Services initiated a dialogue which led to the formation of a Web Content Management Team comprising representatives from the URO and the UITS. The Team is required to ensure timely upload of information and other materials on the website as well as to regularly review the design, structure and content of the website in order to keep it dynamic and abreast with the highest standards of other institutions of higher learning.
Mr. Okine Kabutey, Assistant Webmaster together with Joshua Gbeve, a Research and Design Assistant at the ICT Centre who are both members of the Team took the participants through the basics of the KNUST KAN Content Management system.
The KAN Content Management System (KAN CMS) is a product of EduSOFT Ghana Ltd, developed for the purpose of website content management. The CMS was developed by Francis Adu-Gyamfi, Lead Developer, EduSOFT Ghana Ltd with help from several other team members and software testers, including the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Web team, National Union of Baptist Students and Emmanuel Adinkrah, Software Architect, Footprint Solutions GH.
In attendance was the Ag. Deputy Registrar of the University Relations Office, Mr. Solomon Panford, KNUST Webmaster, Mr. John Serbe Marfo and other staff from the URO and the UITS.
