The Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Professor Christian Agyare has announced major digital-access reforms for affiliated Ministry of Health (MoH) Training Institutions, to ensure equitable education and modernised health training in Ghana.
Speaking at the 12th Graduation Ceremony for the MoH Training Institutions, Prof. Agyare revealed that KNUST has officially extended unrestricted access to its E-library resources and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to all tutors and students of affiliated colleges.
“In a world where knowledge moves at the speed of innovation, access to information must never be a privilege, but a right,” he said.
According to him, this initiative will create a stronger foundation for quality health training. He noted that this move reflects the university’s belief that quality training thrives on equal access to learning tools.
To ensure that the digital expansion is effective, he indicated that specialized training sessions will soon be held for librarians and IT personnel from the training institutions.
“Plans are in place to organize specialized training sessions and workshops to equip them with the requisite skills and knowledge to support students in navigating and accessing the KNUST resources,” he added.
He added that KNUST has introduced computer-based demonstration examinations to help students familiarize themselves with the structure of the university’s digital terminal exams.
“We are providing access to computer-based demonstration examinations. These simulations will help reduce examination anxiety, sharpen digital readiness, and ensure our students face the future with confidence,” he stated.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the University to supporting the Ministry of Health to produce competent, modern health professionals equipped for global practice.
